Wisconsin Department of Justice Obtains Judgment Against Portage County Property Owners for Erosion Control...

MADISON - December 4, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has announced that his office has obtained a judgment in a civil action filed in Portage County Circuit Court on April 2, 2010, against Lexton Properties, LLC and HH Condos, LLC of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The civil complaint filed by Assistant Attorney General Cynthia Hirsch alleges that the defendants owned properties in Portage County known as Harmony Village, North Harmony Village, and Echo Dells and at various times, as managers of these properties, the defendants failed to implement and maintain erosion control practices on the referenced properties in violation of Wisconsin law.

National Mortgage Settlement Monitor’s Report Released

MADISON - November 20, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced that Wisconsin residents have begun taking advantage of relief offered under the National Mortgage Settlement, according to a report released by the Settlement Monitor today. The five settling banks reported that, through the end of September, 2012, 1,873 Wisconsin borrowers have benefited from some type of consumer relief totaling $86,204,414 – an average of $46,025 per borrower. Additionally, over 500 Wisconsin borrowers have been approved for trial modifications which is expected to provide over $32 million in additional relief over the next months, an average of $64,869 per borrower.

Former CPA Sentenced in Mortgage Fraud Investigation

HUD ANNOUNCES JOB GRANTS IN WISCONSIN

CHICAGO - September 24, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today awarded Wisconsin nearly $720,000 in grants to help public and assisted housing residents connect with local services to obtain education and training to find jobs. The funding allows these local grantees to retain or hire 1,500 service coordinators to work directly with HUD-assisted families to connect them to the supportive services that meet their individual needs to become gainfully employed. Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen Announces National Mortgage Settlement Relief Exceeds...

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Wisconsin borrowers received $23.5 million in mortgage loan-related relief in the first quarter of 2013 under the National Mortgage Settlement. Adding to previously announced totals, 3,516 Wisconsin borrowers have now claimed $167,183,021 in loan-related relief.
