Project Will Create 350 New Jobs, Retain 320 Jobs in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, September 25, 2007 – Governor Jim Doyle announced today that Logistics Health Incorporated will receive $1.75 million in Enterprise Development Zone Tax Credits to help the company create 350 new jobs in La Crosse – nearly doubling its workforce.

“With our innovation, our vision for the future and our commitment to hard work, Wisconsin is filled with potential, so much of which is right here in this region, and right here at Logistics Health,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased to announce this investment that will help Logistics Health, a rapidly-growing La Crosse company, continue to expand and provide more good-paying jobs for the community.”

The state tax credits will leverage a $19 million investment by Logistics Health including $14 million for the construction of a new building and $5 million for new equipment purchases.

The Governor last year announced $4 million in New Markets Tax Credits to assist the business in the construction of its new 100,000 square foot corporate facility in downtown La Crosse.

Logistics Health is a leading provider of military medical readiness, primary care, occupational health, homeland security, and emergency preparedness services to a wide range of government and private sector clients, including the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Founded in 1999, Logistics Health is headquartered in La Crosse, with offices in Washington, D.C.; Richmond, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; and Atlanta, Georgia.

The Enterprise Development Zone Program provides tax incentives to new or expanding businesses whose projects will affect areas with high unemployment. Based on the economic impact of a proposed business project, the Department of Commerce can designate an enterprise development zone. A zone is “site specific” and applies to only one business. The maximum amount of credits per zone is $3 million. Zones can exist for up to seven years. The Department can vary zone benefits to encourage projects in areas of high distress and can designate up to 81 zones.

New Markets Tax Credits help promote investment in distressed areas, including historic preservation, affordable housing, Brownfields, and commercial development.
