Governor Doyle Announces $169,000 for Main Street Ingredients, LLC

MADISON, November 14, 2007 – Governor Jim Doyle today announced $169,000 in Community Development Zone tax credits for Main Street Ingredients, LLC, a La Crosse-based manufacturer.

“Manufacturing is at the heart of Wisconsin’s economy,” Governor Doyle said. “Projects like this help our manufacturers grow and create good, family-supporting jobs for the community.”

“The La Crosse community and the State of Wisconsin have created a favorable climate for us to grow our business. They have assisted us in many ways,” says Dave Clark, CEO of Main Street Ingredients. “Their focus on employment programs like this has an impact and does make a difference. They understand that people are the key to any successful business like Main Street Ingredients.”

Main Street Ingredients, LLC is a La Crosse-based distributor and manufacturer of functional ingredients for the dairy, food and nutrition industries. Construction has been completed on a 22,000 sq. ft. addition to accommodate a state-of-the-art quality control lab, offices, lunchroom and a locker room for employees at its facility in La Crosse. In addition, a high-end process and packaging line has been installed to increase production capacity and to handle the volume of new business. The total project cost is $2.8 million. The project will create 51 jobs in the area.
