Van Hollen Announces Civil Judgment Against Oneida County Condominium Developers
                    RHINELANDER, WI - December 14, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen today announced  that his office has obtained a judgment of nearly $158,000 in  penalties, costs and attorney fees in a civil environmental prosecution  filed in Oneida County against the developers of a large lakeshore  condominium project known as the Clearwater Lake Club Condominium  Association. The case had been pending before Circuit Judge Mark A.  Mangerson who issued the penalty decision on Friday, December 10, 2010.                
            Former Park Bank Employee Sentenced for Conspiracy to Obstruct Mortgage Fraud Investigation
                    MADISON, WI - November 24, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western  District of Wisconsin, announced that Amy B. Strait was sentenced today  by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to three months in federal  prison in a prosecution stemming from a federal investigation of bank  fraud and tax fraud. The prison sentence will be followed by a two-year  term of supervised release                
            Governor Doyle Announces Brownfield Grant to Becher Terrace Housing, LLC

            State Files Environmental Lawsuit Against Shorewood Hills Property Owner and Contractors for Shore Access...
                    MADISON, WI - November 16, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen today announced  that his office has filed a civil environmental prosecution against  William Haus, Bauer & Raether Builders, Inc., and D.L. Anderson's  Lakeside Leisure Co., Inc., for their alleged unlawful construction of a  three‑story lake access structure on the shore of Lake Mendota in the  Village of Shorewood Hills, behind the home of Mr. Haus. The Wisconsin  Department of Natural Resources (DNR) had asked the Wisconsin Department  of Justice to prosecute them for violating a state law which prohibits  the placement of fill material or structures on the bed of a lake  without first obtaining a permit from the DNR authorizing such activity.                
            More Than 28,000 Homes Inspected for Disaster Damage
                    NEW BERLIN, WI - November 2, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Since a presidential disaster  declaration was issued Sept. 18, more than 30,000 residents of Grant and  Milwaukee counties have applied for federal disaster aid, and nearly  28,500 of their homes already have been inspected, according to  Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the Federal Emergency  Management Agency (FEMA).

                    WASHINGTON, DC - October 21, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today  announced that it has charged Sharlene and Jerald Kuiper, managers of a  three-bedroom duplex apartment in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, and the  owner of the apartment, Kuiper Family Trust, with violating the Fair  Housing Act by refusing to show an available apartment to a family with  children. HUD’s charge alleges that the Kuipers falsely asserted that  the unit was unavailable for viewing when it was, offered to show units  only after families without children rejected them, and made  discriminatory statements demonstrating a preference for renters without  children.
